What must I do to be saved?

The Bible teaches that there is only one way to get to heaven, you must be born again.

John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. 

You see none of us are good enough to make it on our own account.

Romans 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

The Bible also teaches us that there is a payment for that sin.  That payment is death, both spiritually and physically.

          Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death …

But God through his love and mercy provided a way that we might live, and that way is Jesus Christ.

Romans 6:23b. …but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

What then must we do to claim this payment Christ paid for our sins?  We must first believe that Jesus is who He says He is (The Son of God), that He did what He said He did (died for your sins), and that He will do what He said He would do (Save you).  Then we must confess our sins to Him and ask Him to forgive us.  And finally we must ask Him to come into our heart and allow Him to be Lord of our life.  This is the new birth.

Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Romans 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

            Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of  

            the Lord shall be saved.

Won’t you accept Christ as your savior today?

Just pray something like this:

          Jesus I know that I am lost and in need of a savior.  I know that you died on the cross for my sins, and that if I would ask for your cleansing you would freely give it.  I ask you now for that cleansing,  I confess my sins to you now and turn away from them please forgive me and become Lord of my life.  Amen
